Years of teaching experience: 5
I hold a master’s in Russian philology from the University of Silesia, where I specialised in translation. I wrote my dissertation in the field of linguistics, which is why languages and their grammar are especially close to my heart. I’ve got five years of teaching experience, and I’ve been working at our school for the past three. I’ve a particular soft spot for Polish grammar, and I always try to show that even tricky points can be explained in a simple, engaging way. What I value most in my work is an individual approach — I know that everyone learns at their own pace and has different needs. It also matters a great deal to me that my students feel at ease during lessons and aren’t afraid to make mistakes.
When I’m not working, you’ll most often find me with a book, out on my rollerblades or settled in front of a good crime series. I mostly read fantasy — I’ve been a huge fan of the genre for years. I’ve been rollerblading since I was five, so sport has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve also got a cat, who has taught me rather effectively that there’s a great deal to learn about the feline character — which is how I got interested in animal behaviour. I love travelling, discovering new places and cultures, and simply staying curious about the world. So after work, I try to make time both for staying active and for the little pleasures that let me relax and recharge my batteries.

Aleksandra is a very professional, open and genuinely good teacher. The lessons have a light, friendly feel to them. We always cover interesting topics, and grammar is explained in a way that's clear and easy to follow. Her method of jotting mistakes down in her notes, without interrupting you mid-sentence, lets you speak freely and then go back over the key points and lock them in. She's a patient, easy-going person who teaches Polish with a smile and a lot of heart. Every lesson has a relaxed feel — just like meeting up with a friend.
Aleksandra jest bardzo profesjonalną, otwartą i dobrą nauczycielką. [...]

I've been learning with Ola for two years now. From the very first lesson, she puts in maximum effort to make sure our lessons are as interesting and varied as possible. We talk a lot and can cover absolutely any topic — from politics and science to wedding planning and dealing with the authorities 🙂 And all the while we're picking up loads of vocabulary and grammar. I always look forward to our lessons, and I'm so glad I ended up with Ola two years ago — she's the one who made learning Polish enjoyable, interesting and good fun 🙂

I'd recommend lessons with Ola to anyone looking for a good Polish teacher. The lessons go along at a calm, easy pace. Ola explains trickier grammar points clearly and puts a lot of emphasis on practical communication. I can see the progress in my Polish, and I feel more confident with every lesson.

Ola is a brilliant teacher. She's good at spotting the gaps in your knowledge and homing in on what's really worth working on. At the same time, she makes an effort to get to know your interests and picks conversation topics that keep the lessons interesting and natural. It means the learning never feels formulaic — you're simply having a good conversation. I can see how much my Polish has come on, and I feel a bit more sure of myself with each lesson.
