I completed a degree in Croatian and Serbian philology at the University of Wrocław, and I’m currently studying Slavonic languages with a specialisation in Czech philology. I taught myself Ukrainian and Russian from my school years onwards, which means I know first-hand just how much work, consistency and commitment learning a language takes. At 18, I passed a B2-level certificate in Russian.
Having learnt several Slavonic languages myself, I can look at the process not only as a philologist, but as someone who has walked the whole path — from those first few words to using a language with ease.
My great passion is travel, especially around the Balkans, which I’ve had the chance to explore from top to bottom. I’m fascinated not just by foreign languages but by the cultures of different parts of the world — their folklore, traditions, history and languages. Curiosity about the world and the people in it is one of my biggest sources of inspiration.
Linguistics fascinates me in particular. I love getting to the bottom of where the differences between languages come from, digging into their origins and looking for answers to seemingly simple questions.
